Instructions
Enter patient data in left column, then click on the calculate button
The risk of developing a IHD event (eg angina) over the next 10 or 5 years is displayed on the right
The coloured marker goes red if the risk is >=15%, amber if 10-14% or green if < 10%
The number of patients needed to treat (NNT) to prevent 1 event in the next 5 years is shown
Treatment is recommended if this is <25 (coloured marker will go red)
The effect on the 10 year risk from stopping smoking, lowering cholesterol, lowering BP or all 3 is then shown
Click on the Browser print button at the top to print a copy for the patient
