ACCREDITATION
Accreditation assesses the quality of the processes within general practice. The RACGP Entry Standards for General Practice are used to assess general practice for accreditation. The process of accreditation and re-accreditation involves a self-assessment conducted by the practice followed by a survey of the practice by an accrediting body.
The Eyre Peninsula Division of General Practice is able to offer support to GPs and their practice staff with accreditation and re-accreditation with:

• liaison between practice and accreditation provider;
• provision of up-to-date information
• assistance with policy and procedure manual;
• telephone support;
• pre-survey assessment of the practice;
• vaccination storage advice;
• provision of up-to-date infection control information; and
• distribution of resources.
