WORKFORCE SUPPORT FOR RURAL GPS	Back to GP & Practice Support
The programme focuses on the retention and recruitment of rural GPs in the Eyre Peninsula Division and provides appropriate support structures for the well-being of GPs and their families.
The program aims to support the retention and recruitment of rural GPs and their families by:

promoting Eyre Peninsula to GPs, rural registrars and medical students as a desirable and beneficial place to live and practice medicine;
providing orientation support for new GPs, their families, rural registrars and medical students;
maintenance of an accurate profile of the GP workforce;
working in collaboration with and supporting the activities of the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency;
promoting the Dr DOC programme;
supporting the families of GPs through the Rural Medical Family Network; and
supporting GPs and practice staff with Practice Accreditation and management issues.
